100 Greatest Movies

Image
After I extended the top 25 albums list to more of a top 50. I decided I would go ahead and start working on my all time list. As corny, and geeky as it is. I am most definitely enthused by all of these films, and am probably going to change my mind about some of them. The criterion is based in 1. Impactful experience and literary value 2. Cinematic professionalism and creative conceptualization 3. State of the Art execution in the various aspects of film (Casting, Audio, Lighting, Setting, Script, etc.) The list will be updated continously, but I have started with a strong top 10, and look forward to installing as many great, inspirational films into this list as possible. This list is custom, and some picks will be based in sentiment rather than objective reasoning. 1. 2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick) 2. Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino) 3. There Will Be Blood (Paul Thomas Anderson) 4. Godfather Part II (Francis For Coppola) 5. Seventh Seal (Ingmar Bergman) 6. Terminator ...

Thoughts on Morality In Western Culture

"Nobody will readily regard a doctrine as true merely because it makes people happy or virtuous-excepting, perhaps, the amiable "Idealists", who are enthusiastic about the good, true, and beautiful and let all kinds of motley, coarse, and good natured desirabilities swim about promiscuously in their pond." - Frederich Nietzche (Beyond Good and Evil") Morality at one point was intended to be absolutely singular. An objective doctrine or dogma that followed basic guidelines for behavioral control that would equal morality (The Ten Commandments, 7 Deadly Sins, etc.) Oppositely; amorality was the binary opposite defiance of the predimonant ethical acceptance which existed for thousands of years prior to the foundation of America. Through logical improvements in Western and Eastern ideaology morality as a philosophical and religious subjective expanded through integration and assimilation. (Hinduism, Bhuddism) Whilst this transgression an American executive and legi...

Witch Poem

I finally cured my Koro From the corpus calluses Exercised the fox spirit In the realm of shangri-la The Bell and Andrew Jackson Ran a muck within the town Her malice in a mansion Of graffiti, sand, and sound

The Substance (2024)

4 out of 5 ****       My first introduction to the Substance was through exhibits on Facebook that explained the similarities in setting that Coralie Fargeat's set designers used. The similarities were compared to the Shining or at least Kubrick in general. There may be something to this as I am also seeing influences from Under The Skin, The Cell, and The Fly. The movie was a bit complicit with stereotypes and prejudices, but it was also insightful to promote a wolf in sheep's clothing sort of theme. There is a serious grooming that inevitably leads to her destruction. Showing the perverse treatment of women in the film industry. Dennis Quaid plays a hate-able asshole. It is sad that the very thing that makes her so special and great ultimately causes her downfall. The Writers and Directors seem sickly amused here, but that's no surprise. The film shows that we exalt and profit off of beauty, but we also secretly resent and control the beautiful ones in society. The...

Science Journal (October 15, 2025)

I was reading Fred Alan Wolf’s “Taking The Quantum Leap” along with “The Pocket Aristotle”, and it came to me that the basics of ancient Greeks are still useful to this very day. I read the preliminaries of “Taking The Quantum Leap” and noticed that Voltaire and Francis Bacon were heavy interpreters of Aristotle. One of the most influential thinkers of all time was improved upon. It also got me thinking that perhaps nothing is ever truly refuted in the context of total falsification, but rather built on consensus and interpretation. As Frederich Willhelm Nietszche would say “There are no facts, there are only interpretations.” Although he may have intended this as a statement that supports inherit subjectivity: I think you might understand what I am building upon here. If I were to implement the scientific method for a reason or two. My immediate instinct tell me to use them for #1 Scientific Discovery”. Yet my mathematics are not sophisticated enough to keep up with modern the...

October Prose (2025)

Prose “Oh beautiful for spacious skies with Amber waves of grain, with purple mountain majesty, above the fruited plains.” - America the Beautiful by: Michael W. Smith A Malignant Curse of animosity festers and torments within. Despite continuous compassionate interactions there is a tsunami and whirlwind of emotions causing rigorous pain and heartache. It seems that the luck of the draw is left for everyone else. As I am continuously left short handed in the grand scheme of things. I am being used as leverage by my peers who try to pin their criminalities on me and force me to take the blame for their mischievous behaviors. A decadent excess has swept over the community. Lustful hotwives are the new political shindig, and there's a bastard around every corner from a family of millionaires who skipped town to an estate where they could create a round 2. Whilst; those who serve nobility are limping their way to work in run down automobiles that may have existed before the new mill...
