The Social Media Fire and HB4

The Social Media Fire and HB4 by: Matthew Wattles One of the reasons that the Democrats did not vote is the harsh accusatory nature of they were putting on bill HB4. HB4 was written and supported by 100% Republicans. After looking at this bill I noticed there was more of an objective function including a poll observation and ballot watcher. The majority and near entirety of text in this bill explained the rules and regulations of having a mandatory ballot observer at the polls. For example; the ballot watcher must not be told to leave, and absolutely must be present to validate the authenticity of counting. HB4 reads and sounds like a practical and essential piece of legislation that can enhance voter security, and luckily for the conservatives it did pass. An independent text message solicitor told me that the bill was “Jim crow” 2.0. This is a total hyperbolic exaggeration. Does this bring up reverse psychology being used in political outreach? Does this affect voter comprehe...

Lithium Mining, Fractals, and The Mandlebrot Set

Lithium Mining and Ordinance in 2021             Recently there was a Nobel Prize winner for chemistry. His name is M. Stanley Whittingham. He was exonerated for his efforts because he evaluated and predicted that lithium would be the element known for being the most important resource for the next 10 years. Lithium is one of the three oldest elements in the universe according to modern science. Lithium has formerly been used as a medication that can treat people suffering from mood disorders and psychological disorder such as Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. A revolutionary turn for the use of lithium happened when Lithium Ion Batteries emerged as essential for the latest technology. Now Lithium is being mined at a higher rate internationally because of it’s essential compatibility with electric cars. A huge proponent of this mining is the electric car company Tesla whom have already established mining fields in Chile. ...

A Content Review of Midsommar (2019) - Spoiler Alert

Midsommar review by: Matthew Wattles (Spoiler Alert!) Midsommar is a movie that symbolically and cleverly shows the deterioration of a couple disintegrating from Adultery. Ari Aster’s 2019 film is set in Sweden where characters Christian and his newly wed Dani are brought to a Swedish cult where signs and instances of division and horror occur. An increasingly bizarre and horrific ceremony eventually burns their entire marriage. The cult and its members symbolize various aspects of the pressures and temptations of society that can threaten a marriage. When Christain eventually is deceived, tempted, and lured into a barn with Mama (pronounced eeirly like Money in the film) the wicked deal is sealed and it is all down hill from there. Christain and his friends are on a scholastic expedition of some kind. Working on their thesis. A perfectly introductory term to disable the importance of the expedition which has increasingly made Dani feel secondary. Much of the film explores th...

An Idea for Musicinas in Austin, Texas (The Struggle is Real, but there is Hope)

How Industry is Putting Musicians Out of Business – by: Matthew C Wattles             Aside from a politically charged society that is likely to explode with personal and social conversations about feminism, social justice and solidarity, and black lives matter. Musicians in Austin, Texas are facing a new glum standard of living that is not cost effective for them. Musicians deal in tones and are being bullied by the rhetoric of politics, technological innovation, and conversations about civil rights and litigations. This is not to discredit these conversations as unuseful, because they are essential. As a musician I have stood behind various political causes and have tried to pay the bills with money from supporting local propositions, city council members, and non-profit organizations like Texas Campaign for the environment. After that I have taken the time to educate myself on various ballots such as the gubernatorial (w...

I am writing this as a validation that toward the current objective that we have as a culture in our search for healthier minds. I am an adult at the age of 31 who still suffers from Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, and psychlothymia. I have spent a life dealing with mania and severe depression. It has been a constant battle for me to resist and conserve while experiencing mania. I like many other Bipolar patients have struggled with cigarette smoking, alcoholism, and behavioral impulses that can threaten my stability in the workplace and school. I have however; seen the bright side of my diagnosis and am encouraged by our current motion toward better resources for people with mental illness. I am also humbled and surprised by the amount of people in the professions willing to dedicate their careers to helping people such as myself. As a young man I was fortunate to have a mother who cared deeply for people diagnosed with such things. She worked hard her whole life to get me top level t...
